RICA AND I recently attended the 15th anniversary celebration of the United Arab Emirates International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition, AEEDC, in Dubai. This is one of the largest dental meetings in the world and certainly the largest dental meeting in the Middle East. I was fortunate enough to be asked to present five lectures during the meeting. The first lecture was on reciprocal endodontics featuring the SafeSiders® instruments and the EndoExpress® handpiece. The lecture was attended by more than 700 dentists. It was quite an experience. On the second day we did three two-hour combination hands-on and lecture workshops. These were also fully attended, and after doing three of them in a row by the end of the day I needed my bed. However, we went to a gala event sponsored by the meeting at the Dubai racetrack, one of the prettiest and largest racetracks that I have ever been to. They served an incredible buffet with the best hummus I have ever had. On the last day I gave one more lecture on post and cores, with only 600 dentists in attendance. As you can tell, CE credit is a very important part of this conference. Below are some pictures of the show and pictures of Erica and me enjoying ourselves in Dubai. Even with a worldwide recession going on, the amount of building in Dubai is absolutely staggering!
